ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Monday said the nation cannot compromise on the Kashmir` issue and war is no option for resolving the issue and it will have to be addressed in line with UN resolutions.
He was talking to reporters after parliamentary party leaders meeting on the Kashmir issue and tension between Pakistan and India. He said the PM had promised on the floor of assembly that corruption matters should be investigated, but the probe into corruption would start from the PM.
“The way PTI Chairman Imran Khan has infused a new spirit into the youths on corruption is commendable. We will take any decision about participating in Imran Khan’s protest against corruption at suitable time. The PM himself is the only impediment on the way to investigation into Panama leaks,” he added.
He expressed concern over non- appointment of a foreign minister, saying that the foreign secretary gave briefing to the meeting while it was responsibility of a foreign minister. Nawaz Sharif has been elected PM for the third time but he has not appointed a foreign minister. His logic is beyond comprehension, he added. Whenever prime ministers talk about some issue, this is not a talk between two friends but it is talk between two heads of state.
Had PM started accountability process as per his pledge the nation would have been more united, he underlined.
“We have sided with government only on the issue of Kashmir. We are with government on Kashmir issue for achieving together national security targets. PPP will stage protest on the issue of accountability.”
He remarked that they don’t make any distinction between good and bad Taliban.
To a question, he said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has also come under discussion in parliamentary parties leaders meeting.
“We have no personal differences with Nawaz Sharif but political differences are there with him,” he observed.
He said India knows that there is no military solution to Kashmir problem due to which it is continuously violating LoC.
He mentioned that all the political parties in the parliament attended the meeting giving the message that the entire nation is united when it comes to the defense of country.
He declared that the entire nation stands together when it comes to the Kashmir issue and the Indian aggression.
