PESHAWAR: Associate Adviser for Federal Ombudsman for Khyber Pakthunkhwa, Adalat Khan Khattak on Friday organised an open Kacheri in Kohat under the Speedy Complaints Resolution Programme (SCRP) and issued on the spot for resolution of problems related to gas, Wapda, NADRA and passport etc.
He directed the concerned authorities to ensure implementation of the orders issued by Federal Ombudsman and his authorised officers, adding negligence in this regard would not be tolerated and strict action would be taken against violators.
Khattak said the aim of SCRP to provide speedy and quick relief to the aggrieved people at their doorsteps. He said such open kacheris were being held on monthly basis at all regional headquarters and strict actions are being taken against officials found guilty of non-compliance of the orders.
Most of the complaints were filed against electricity overbilling, illegal connections and repair of transformers. Several complaints regarding NADRA, sui-gas and passports were disposed off during the open kacheri. Adalat Khan directed the Wapda officers to avoid overbilling and not waste time of people and senior officers of the department.
“I would visit Kohat again and will hear people’s complaints besides status of implementation of his orders.” This kacheri was held for people of Kohat, Karak and Hangu districts where a large number of people participated.
